Monday the 6th February 2017, Shooting B roll

Today I didn’t go into college but I still went into Blackburn to get B roll footage for the VNA. I needed shots of the lack of chimneys in Blackburn as I compared what my Nana said about there being no more cotton chimneys. I got off the bus coming into Blackburn in Brownhill as that is were my Nana’s old house was, I got some shots of the streets and the area, I tried to get videos of the house and back garden but the person wasn’t in therefore I couldn’t get permission. All the shots look fairly nice even though the area is not the nicest. I didn’t have a tripod and therefore all my B roll is shot freehand. I liked the footage non the less because it shows the similarities and the massive difference in life at the same time. The church was still there and her house was still there very similar to how it was in pictures, although the back garden had changed from having an shelter in to a trampoline. Screen Shot 2017-02-18 at 14.39.45.png

I got into Blackburn and went to the top spot at Corporation Park, this allowed me to get a decent view of Blackburn town. I got pans and still shots as this will be helpful for my longer VNA video as I think there will need to be a break when it is mostly speaking.

I also got shots of the actual park as that is were my Nana had done plays before making it relevant to the video. After that I walked around Blackburn checking half of everything which needed shooting.

This day went really well as I managed to get more than half of my B roll filmed and this means I can easily get the other half done by tomorrow. I like some of the shots but not all them will be used in the video, I just got a good amount so I have enough footage. If I were to do it again I wouldn’t change anything as I enjoyed the day and got things done.
